Ian Withington

Ian joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies in 2005 with over 20 years brand building experience. He specialises in creating standout campaigns that start with a clear audience insight and delivering ideas that have compelling storytelling with a strong narrative at their heart – ideas that lead to measurable and positive business outcomes.​

His work has spanned global and local campaigns and he has worked with many of the UK’s best known brands across multiple sectors  including ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Virgin, O2 and Sky TV in the retail and leisure space and wider campaign work for the likes of: Heinz, Nestle, Pernod Richard, Diageo and Coca-Cola Great Britain. ​

He currently leads the food + drink division and has an active role on brand and nutrition comms for the multi brands portfolio Mondelez International (belVita breakfast biscuits, Dairylea and Barny) TUI travel (Thomson and First Choice) and consults on the multi-channel retailer QVC.​

Before joining H+K, Ian was a board director at specialist consumer agency Jackie Cooper PR for nine years. He was latterly responsible for the re-branding of BT Cellnet to O2 and the on-going consumer and retail PR campaign. Ian is a business and marketing graduate from Lancashire Polytechnic and also holds a diploma from the Market Research Society. ​
